Trooping the Colour 2015 (Prince George Alert!)

Good morning fellow royal watchers,
Today is of great importance because two events are being celebrated: Trooping the Colour (the Queen's official birthday) and the Swedish royal wedding. Later in the post I will provide links to articles about the royal wedding. For now, Trooping the Colour!
The Trooping the Colour ceremony originated in battle, when colors (flags) were passed down (trooped) so everyone could know what was going on (Yellow means this, red means that). This was eventually merged with the official celebration of the monarch's birthday. Over 1400 officers paraded around London.
Some people have commented that Kate was (understandably) looking a little tired, but I thought she looked healthy and happy. With two under two, it's no wonder!

Kate wore trusty Catherine Walker. Her coat dress, named Astrid, was an interesting piece for today. Kate likes to experiment with textures on Trooping the Colour. Last year she wore the mixed-review  Alexander McQueen silvery separates, and in 2012 she wore a textured Erdem piece.

She wore Lock & Co Marisabel Hat, which also comes in a coffee shade.

Now to the main topic: Prince George! He stole the show wearing the exact same outfit as William did when he was George's age.

Isn't that just adorable! In addition, George pulled a Prince Harry . When he saw Kate passing by on the street below, he became very excited to see his mum and made this face :)

As my own mother aptly noted, Prince George looks very comfortable with William, much more so than William with Charles. These two already have a sweet father-son bond. The two are just cute together, as well.

Happy official birthday to the Queen! Long live the Queen!
