Kate's 2nd to Last Pregnancy Engagement!

Hello from 36,000 feet up! I am traveling today, but with a little extra time on the plane and excitement about Kate, here the post is :) Today Kate was in Woolwich to meet those volunteering at Home-Start, a charity that helps parents struggling to cope with tough issues such as depression, bereavement, and isolation, among many others.
Press Association
Home-Start's 15,000 volunteers help more than 29,000 families every year. Rob Parkinson, the CEO, only had glowing things to say:
"It doesn't matter where you come from, when you are a mother there is a commonality there - something the Duchess saw for herself today."

She also empathized with mothers discussing sleeping patterns and feeding schedules:
"It can be hard, can't it? So often it's about giving you the confidence to interact with your baby."
Kate has obviously shown a huge interest in the wellbeing of families and children, and she talked animatedly with the group for hours.
Press Association
This is widely assumed to be one Kate's last engagements before having Prince/Princess #2! Kate even let slip her due date:
"I'm due mid-April, to the end of April. Not long to go now!"
The woman who asked her said it was impossible to resist asking :)

On to her outfit today! She proved once again she knows how to shop on a budget (although she certainly doesn't have one) with her mere $65 ASOS dress. She wore the 3/4 sleeve length Maternity Exclusive Wrap Skater Dress. She wore a coat made by a private dressmaker.

She wore her beloved black Stuart Weitzman Power Pumps and Kiki McDonough drops. Her clutch was the much used Mulberry Bayswater.

I promise to post soon and have a spectacular day!

St. Patricks Day...in Brown!

Happy St. Patricks Day! I hope you and your family are having a wonderful day. With one of Kate's last engagements before she gives birth, she gave us a shocker...she wore brown instead of the traditional green! I hope she didn't get pinched ;)
WENN.com
The ceremony was at the 1st Battalion Irish Guards in Mons Barracks, Aldershot. William and Kate looked very rested, probably because they just spent the weekend in Bucklebury for British Mother's Day.
Wenn.com
Kate has been conducting this ceremony since 2012, following in the footsteps of Anne, the Princess Royal and the Queen Mother. This also has a special meaning for them since William wore his Irish Guards uniform at their wedding.

Kate, of course, adorned Irish wolf Domhnall with a shamrock sprig.

They chatted with veterans before sitting for the official picture:

Kate opted for a brown, bespoke Catherine Walker coat today. I think everyone is a bit surprised that she didn't wear green to this event, but it worked quite well on her.

She wore her beloved Lock & Co. topper that she has worn to many engagements, as well as the gold shamrock brooch that was previously owned by the Queen Mother, and originally made by Cartier.

She looked quite lovely today. She has her final engagement tomorrow! I will be traveling again tomorrow, so I promise if there is no post tomorrow there will be one the following day. Happy St. Patricks Day!

St. Paul's Cathedral Service

Dear Readers! I am so sorry about the delay; the last few days were full of travel for me. Without further ado, here is the post!

Kate, William, and other members of the royal family attended a ceremony for the fallen soldiers of Afghanistan.

Over 2,000 attended the service, including veterans and families of the fallen. Former PM's Tony Blair and Gordon Brown were also present.

The service specifically honored the 453 service men and women that lost their lives. The commemoration was lead by the Dean of St. Paul's Cathedral, with the Archbishop of Canterbury giving an address.

We get a look in the procession:

After the service, the congregation was lead outside for a view of the flypast, made up of military service people from the Army, RAF, Royal Navy and Royal Marines.

It was a somber day. Below we see them socializing with a few members of the royal family:

We also saw a (very, very, very) rare public display of affection between Prince Phillip and The Queen.

Kate wore a lovely Beulah London coat 'Chiara'. She wore a fascinator by an unknown designer, and wore her suede McQueen pumps.

She debuted a beautiful Tanzanite and Diamond necklace and earring set by G Collins and Sons.

I think it was a great look for her and it was nice to see her looking cheerful on one of her last engagements before she goes on maternity leave! See you on St. Patricks Day :)

Kate Visits Downton Abbey!

For us Anglophiles, the day has come where our two worlds have met - Downton Abbey royalty and real ones! Kate visited the set of Downton Abbey today, and seemed to enjoy herself immensely.

Upon her arrival, Kate was presented with a wooden train set for Prince George from one of the little boys who plays George Crowley.

For those who don't know, Downton Abbey is the immensely popular television drama set in the early-mid twentieth century, focusing primarily on the upper class of Downton Abbey, but also the help.

Unusually for Kate, she was not the only star there! Observers noticed that Kate herself seemed a little starstruck (I am sure it was mutual ;). This nice infographic details the attendants, with Catherine in the middle.

Here she is pictured chatting with Jim Carter, who plays the loyal butler Carson.

Downton Abbey has proved popular with the Windsors and the Middletons - many of the members of the royal family have carried out engagements at Ealing Studios, and the Middletons had a private tour last year (sparking speculation that this was not Kate's first visit.) Indeed, Kate stayed a whole hour longed that was expected.

Kate had the opportunity to experience all aspects of Downton - the costume and makeup department, meeting and viewing the actors at work, and talking with the creators. Below she is with Downton creator Lord Julian Fellowes.

Back to the tour! Here she is in the makeup department, watching a scene being filmed and in the kitchen set:

Now to Kate's outfit - she wore a new designer! Her coat was by Jojo Maman Bébé. This is a maternity coat and is aptly named "Princess". She accessorized with the same pieces as yesterday - Stuart Weitzman Power Pumps, Mulberry clutch, and Annoushka pearl earrings.

I hope Kate had a lovely time - I certainly enjoyed looking at the photos! See you on St. Patricks Day for the Irish Guards ceremony. She has a new engagement scheduled for the next day, giving rise to rumors that she is due later in April, as we thought St. Patricks Day was her last engagement before giving birth. See you then!

It is a Right Royal Recycle!

Hello everyone and welcome! Kate went to Margate today to visit the Turner Contemporary Art Gallery. She shined in a recycled coat, last worn during her pregnancy with Prince George.
Press Association
Turner Contemporary is one of the most successful art galleries in the UK, and since opening it's doors in 2011 it has welcomed 1.4 million visitors. She viewed a number of pieces, met with the artists, and also visited the Clore Learning Studio, where she greeted a number of young people who had been working with Felicity Allen.

Having a History of Art degree, Kate seemed to enjoy today very much!

Her next stop was at Resort Studios, where she met Tamsin Landells and her husband Tim Ratliff, who created Resort Studios.
And their 6-week-old son!
She also met artist Heidi Plant, 35, who is pregnant with her third child and a leading creator.

She told one woman after being called 'very trim':
"Sometimes I forget I'm even pregnant!"

Now to her dress! She wore her Hobbs Dalmatian Print Mac that she wore late in her last pregnancy to christen the Royal Princess.

She accessorized with her Stuart Weitzman Power Pumps, Annoushka pearl drops, and a Mulberry clutch.

Commonwealth Day in Pink

Kate is back after spending some of the last alone time with George before Baby No. 2 arrives. William is back after a successful tour in Japan and mainland China. The couple, as well as the Prince of Wales, Duchess of Cornwall (aka Charles and Camilla) with the Duke of Edinburgh and the Queen attended Commonwealth Day services with many others in Westminster Abbey.

Commonwealth Day Observance is the largest multi faith celebration in the UK, with attendees ranging from royals to schoolchildren. The goal of this event if to celebrate and display the diversity of all countries in the Commonwealth, and it succeeded today.
Press Association
This is a wonderful, uniting event. On a separate note, do you recognize this coat?  If you did, it is from Trooping the Colour in 2013. This was her last engagement before having George, and Kate only has a few more on the calendar before the birth of her second child in April.

Today she accessorized with a new (assumedly bespoke) hat from Jane Taylor Millinery. Jane Taylor and her companies are quickly rising to the top of Kate's hat and fascinator preferences.

She also wore Kiki McDonough earrings and shiny Prada pumps. In the below picture you can see Kate greeting some of the attendees on her way out.

This year's theme was a "Young Commonwealth", highlighting the importance of the twenty nine and under population. Westminster Abbey also holds special memories for William and Kate, as this is the place they wed.

It was a great day of celebration. What do you think?

Thanks for popping by, and we will see you very soon! Let me know what you thought of the event in the comments :)
