Kate Wears GOAT (!) for Charity Visit and Luncheon

Day One of the Mini Tour has been very exciting indeed. First thing this morning, she exited the lovely Carlyle (where she and William are staying) to visit the Northside Center for Child Development in Harlem.
This is a long running foundation, starting in 1965. In the post-WWII period, four psychologists set up this center in concern for the "lack of services for the troubled youth of Harlem." Their mission if to "foster the healthy development of children and families and seeks to empower them to respond constructively to negative societal factors such as racism and its related consequences."  They work with more than 3700 families in and around the Harlem area.
Kate also met with First Lady of New York, Chirlane McCray, who donned a lovely fuchsia coat.

While inside, Kate appeared to enjoy herself quite a bit as she wrapped presents and played with the children.

Kate then went to the British Consul General's private residence for a luncheon honoring her.

While Kate was busy in New York, William traveled down to Washington DC to visit with President Obama.

They had a brief photo-op then went behind closed doors to discuss in private. William then attended a luncheon in his honor:
