Prince William has Arrived in Malta; Kate is feeling "So-So"

Prince William has arrived in Malta, today going on a number of engagements in place of Kate, who is still suffering from Hyperemesis Gravidarum. Even though Kate couldn't make it, William is proving to be a huge hit, with many thousands of people turning out to see him.

William is being accompanied by his right hand man Sir David Manning, and rather surprisingly, Kate's right hand woman, Rebecca Deacon. Rebecca was a key in planning this trip, though, so it seems only right she be the one supervising the thing.

He said his wife was feeling "so-so" and that is the classic British understatement, so we can assume Kate is still feeling pretty horrible. In regards to Prince George, when asked by the Maltese President, William said "Malta might not survive George. There are too many precious things around here!"

This was a very special trip for William (in Kate's place), because The Queen and Prince Phillip lived in Malta for the first few years of their marriage, and is reportedly some of their happiest memories.

The crowds didn't seem terribly disappointed that William was there is Kate's place. This tour was overall a success and something that, while I am sure Kate would have loved to do it, was the right decision. See you soon!

Happy Birthday Harry! + Kate Tidbits

As we come onto this fine day, I would like to wish Prince Harry a wonderful birthday. In this post I will cover his life and his friendship with Kate.

Prince Henry of Wales was born on September 15, 1984,  at the Lindo Wing of St. Mary's.

He has the title of the jokester, and cemented that when he was only three years old:
With Mom Diana at a RAF base:
At a Spice Girl's Premiere in 1997 (someone has a little blush action going on!):
At Diana's funeral (I still can't believe he held it together, the poor thing!):
Harry grew up quite a bit in just a few years, pictured here at the last day of his time at Eton College:
Harry and Kate have always been close (as you would imagine, having just one other person to commiserate with about the extremely rare situation they are in must feel comforting), since he and William are close. Here they are in 2007 at a game of football (American soccer):
Here we see them at the Order of the Garter ceremony, when Prince William officially got initiated into the Order:
Moving to present day, Harry, Kate, and William carry out family functions, weddings, and official engagements together.

Happy Birthday, Harry! Many more to you and we all wonder what will be happening next year!

In regards to Kate and her health, no more news has been released. The Palace has announced that there will be a decision be Wednesday in regards to Malta. If Kate does not go, it is expected another senior Royal will go, such as Princes Harry or William.

Pregnancy Pieces that Deserve a Royal Recycle

Hello all! With all the excitement surrounding the recent news that Kate is expecting, I thought that I would choose a few items that I think deserve a recycle this fall!

1. Her Erdem Floral: This was a mixed review piece, but I personally loved it. It flattered Kate's changing body and added a little flair with the pattern.
2. Blue Emilia Wickstead: This was a showstopper the first time, so it wouldn't have the same impact as it did the debut, but it still showcases her new form perfectly, as well as being a baby blue.

3. Yellow Emilia Wickstead Coatdress: Yet another Emilia Wickstead Win during Kate's first pregnancy. This was a bright yellow coat that was cheery (made Kate seem glowing) and nice for a day engagement!
Marie Claire
4. Grey MaxMara Dress: This is a piece that is good for casual occasion, and it shows off her bump!

I hope you have a wonderful evening and I will update as more info flows in!

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are Pleased to Announce they are Expecting!

As I woke up this morning, I rolled over and looked at my phone. Before I saw all the press announcements, I saw a text from my Grandma: "Have a good day! Was just watching Channel 7 News and Kate and William are pregnant!"
I literally screamed.
Well, folks, it's official: Kensington Palace released a statement!
"Their Royal Highnesses the Duke are very pleased to announce that the Duchess of Cambridge is expecting their second child.

The Queen and members of both families are delighted with the news.

As with her first pregnancy, The Duchess is suffering Hypermesis Gravidarum. Her Royal Highness will no longer accompany the Duke of Cambridge to their planned engagement in Oxford today. The Duchess is being treated by doctors at Kensington Palace."

We extend our heartiest congratulations to the couple! Kate has Hypermesis Gravidarum again, which is a devastating condition, and during her pregnancy with George she had it as well. At the time, William stated that: "I don't know why they call it morning sickness - they should call it all-day and all-night sickness."
The two are doting parents, so I am sure the new baby will be made at home with Prince George.

Unfortunately, Kate and William were forced to make the difficult decision to announce their pregnancy early (again), as Kate couldn't come to the engagement today.  As it looks, she probably won't be attending the Invictus events either. People are questioning the possibility of the Malta trip, which, again, seems to be a no. Seems like we won't be seeing her for a while!
The morning sickness seems to have hit her quite suddenly, because just over 1 week ago they were seen on a dinner date and running through Kings Cross (If you haven't already read about it, you can do so here.) This is an especially unfortunate time for it to hit (at least for us - she is probably relieved) because she doesn't have to do another round of engagements. This means she hasn't hit the 12 week mark, as her due-month would be released along with that.
I wonder how Prince George is going to take to his sibling! He seems like the kind of kid who wants everything done his way, now, so I am assuming that he won't be thrilled. Of course, having siblings close in age is very nice.
US Magazine
Kate is going to be treated by (and is currently under the care of) Alan Farthing. Marcus Setchell, who delivered George, has retired. Harry noted earlier that Kate was feeling "pretty poorly" which can be translated to mean she is feeling like crap. Hopefully she will be feeling better in a few weeks time (Can we assume they are feeling this happy!)
William said a few words in regard to his wife's pregnancy today while at the Dickson Poon Centre: "She's feeling okay, thanks. It's been a tricky few days...a week or so. But obviously we are immensely thrilled. It is great news, early days. We're hoping to things settle down and she feels a bit better."
I think we can all join them in the joy of expecting another child! I will update as things progress. Congrats, Cambridges!

Two More Outings for the Royal Couple

Yes, you read the title right - William and Kate have announced two more engagements for the coming week! I literally started squealing with excitement. They are doing what they usually do, however, grouping their engagements together, so we probably won't be seeing Kate until the Malta trip. Anyways, lets go over the latest news:

September 10: William and Kate will join Harry for the opening of the Invictus Games, a project which Harry has been working on all year. The Paralympic style athlete competition is supposed to build confidence in athletes with disabilities. You can view their homepage here.  They have a cool countdown telling you how long until the start (and how long until we see Will and Kate!). Below we see the trio at the opening of the Olympic games in 2012.
September 11: The trio will attend a Drumhead service at Lee Valley Athletics Centre. Drumhead dates back hundreds upon hundreds of years when drums (and their patterns) were used to communicate on the battlefield. It is something of a religious and somber ceremony, so I am excited to see what outfit Kate chooses.

That is all for now, folks! Come back tomorrow for updates on Kate and William's engagement to Dickson Poon China Centre!

Kate: From her Engagement to being a Mom: Part 1

Guten Tag!
As  you may well know, this is a season of sorrow for Kate watchers. Yes, she is on holiday with William and her little one, which is very good for the family (they need a little bit of rest!), but it means no Kate news for all us fans. Therefore, this is a special post(s) about Kate and her life since her engagement to Prince William. It will be organized by going over her engagement period and her wedding, then moving on to my 5 favorite engagements of the years. I will be doing a series, so this one will cover engagement period/wedding. Look out for the others!

On November 16, 2010, Catherine Elizabeth Middleton and Prince William announced their engagement:
"The Prince of Wales is delighted to announce the engagement of Prince William to Miss Catherine Middleton."
In a break from tradition, the engagement was announced via email to the press before being announced at the press conference.

Kate was wearing the now famous Issa wrap dress, in royal blue (I think Kate looks much better in this than the model!).

Of course, her engagement ring was what was also Princess Diana's engagement ring. William said it was "my way of keeping my mother a part of everything."

The day was very exciting for everyone! The official engagement photos were released as well:

I personally like the second one better, as it gives me more of an insight to their fun side. This was the first time the public had gotten any really good pictures of Kate, not ones that were taken by the paparazzi.

Kate went on four engagements with William prior to their wedding, as a mini Royal tour.
First she went to St. Andrews University, where she and William both graduated. She was wearing a Luisa Spagonoli suit, which looked very elegant on her:
They both looked very excited to be back at where the first met!

Next they christened a ship in the small island town of Angelsey, Wales. The couple lived there until just a few years ago, where William's RAF base was.

This was Kate's first 'real' engagement, one of many to come. I loved her look here, very Kate but still tying in elements of her younger style into her more mature one that she has now developed (I would especially like to note her fascinator, which was much more inventive than the ones she chooses now. It reminds me of the stick-on fascinator of her dating days) .

For their third engagement, the newly engaged couple went to Belfast, Northern Ireland. They flipped pancakes in the town square (yes, really!), and then watched a play.

What Kate Wore
Here is a cute video of them greeting the crowd and flipping pancakes:
Kate was wearing an on trend 650 pound Burberry coat with a skirt detailing. The goal of this visit was to strengthen bonds between Northern Ireland and the rest of the UK. This was Kate's first brush with the complicated world of politics intertwined with the Royal family.

The final of the four engagements before they got married was in Witton Country Park, England.

She was wearing a lovely navy Amanda Wakely suit.
They were again greeted with many admiring fans!
We didn't see Kate for quite some time after this, besides the random paparazzi shot. The next photo we got of her was the night before the wedding, before entering the Goring Hotel in Belgravia. This is a Royal hotspot and most of the guests were being housed either here or in the Palace.

As the picture above so aptly shows, the excitement for the wedding was almost unbearable!

As the morning begun, one can only imagine what Kate was thinking. Not only was she getting married, but she was committing herself to a life in the spotlight and a life of working, especially when William became King. We finally got the first glimpses of the dress when she was exiting the hotel for the car. Earlier that morning we saw designer Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen step out of a car in front of the hotel, sparking a rumor that she is the one who designed the dress (a rumor that turned out to be true!).
Kate then exited the hotel and got into the waiting car, much to the excitement of onlookers:

Fun fact: While Kate was walking down the aisle, Harry turned around and whispered to William "Wait till you see her." When Kate finally made her way to William, he told her "You look absolutely beautiful."

That is how the couple ended the day. What a wonderful fairytale. Have a wonderful day!
